Pressure calibration at the push of a button
In a refinery, accurate pressure measurements are important for safety, efficiency, quality, and cost control. A number of instruments in safety and shut-down systems measure critical pressures and feed the information back to the control system so it can determine whether to send an alert or shut down a process. Regular calibration ensures that those instruments are sending the correct information to the control system. It also optimizes those systems to maintain top plant efficiency and quality, and - as a result - revenue. Because downtime is costly and needs to be eliminated or brief and conditions are usually difficult at best, the tools used to calibrate those instruments need to be very portable, accurate, and easy to use.
The new Fluke 719Pro Electric Pressure Calibrator includes a full function loop calibrator that sources, simulates, and measures mA signals, making it ideal for refinery applications. The large backlit screen displays three parameters simultaneously:
Although it is compact in size, the 719Pro packs a lot of capabilities, including a unique integrated electric pump to generate up to 300 psi at the touch of a button. By eliminating the need for a hand pump, the 719Pro saves time and the hassle of having to carry another piece of equipment and juggle extra hoses that could increase the opportunity for leaks.
Its programmable pressure calibrator pump limit eliminates over-pressurization and allows technicians to program “pump to” pressure values for quick, consistent pressure calibration.You can extend the standard 300 psi measurement range farther with any of 29 Fluke 700 Series Pressure Modules. And the pump cleanout port simplifies cleaning and reduces pump failures.
Dual pressure sensor calibrator handles both sides of custody transfers
Beyond the walls of the refinery, midstream companies count on accurate pressure calibration for accurate gas flow (custody transfer) measurements. Both sides of the custody transfer transaction need accurate static and differential pressure measurements to make sure they’re getting the correct amount of product or the correct payment.
The new Fluke 721 Dual Range Pressure Calibrator meets those requirements at both ends of the pressure range. Its dual isolated pressure sensors measure static and differential pressure simultaneously with reference class accuracy of 0.025 %. You can choose from seven high pressure ranges between 100 and 5000 PSI (6.9 and 345 bar) for static pressure measurements and 16 or 36 psi (1.1 bar or 2.48 bar) for differential pressure measurements.
Like the 719Pro, the 721 has a backlit screen that displays three parameters simultaneously - static and differential pressure, as well as temperature (with the optional 720RTD probe). In addition, it measures from 4 to 20 mA signals and has a 24V loop power supply to power a transmitter under test. The simple user interface and rugged design allow custody transfer workers to quickly perform precise and accurate calibrations.
Rough and ready pressure gauges
It goes without saying that offshore oil platforms present some of the roughest conditions to work in. Those extreme conditions make it even more important for technicians to keep close tabs on a variety of pressure measurements to maintain physical and environmental safety and cost effective operations. They need pressure gauges that are (1) quick and easy to connect and (2) provide a high degree of accuracy and rugged durability in far less than ideal conditions.
The new Fluke 700G Series Precision Pressure Test Gauges were designed specifically to meet those requirements. They are easy to use and easy to read in a wide variety of light conditions. They are also rugged enough to stand up to the harshest environments and still deliver accurate pressure measurements. Even more important, their intrinsically safe ratings of CSA: Class1, Div 2, Groups A-D and ATEX: II 3 G Ex nA IIB T6 mean they can be used in areas that may have explosive gasses present.
You can choose from 23 models of 700G Series gauges to measure from ±10 inH2O/20 mbar to 10,000 psi/690 bar, including seven reference class gauge ranges, two low pressure measurement ranges, fourteen precision test gauge ranges, and four absolute pressure measurement ranges. If you need to record and analyze pressure measurements over time, you can combine the 700G Series with Fluke 700G TRACK logging software and log up to 8,493 pressure measurements to memory and upload those measurements to a PC for reports or further analysis. You can also add an optional pneumatic or hydraulic test kit - which includes a hand pump, hoses, and adapters that work with any 700G Series gauge - for a complete portable pressure testing solution.
For ease of use, you’ll find Fluke’s easy viewing bright backlit screen, a ¼" NPT to ¼" ISO adapter for fast connections, and a rubber holster that protects the gauge and makes it easier to hold.
