EVERETT, Wash. – Three products from Fluke Corporation, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, have been recognized as the hottest products in Test & Measurement World’s Top 50 of 2011. The Fluke® 190 Series II Four-Channel Scopemeter®, iFlex™ Clamp Meter flexible current probes, and 1551A Ex “Stik” Thermometer were named three of the top products in the instrumentation category.
The editors of Test & Measurement World pick the “hottest” test, measurement, and inspection tools across five major categories from the 700 vendors’ products listed in the magazine’s annual buyers’ guide. The Top 50 gives the magazine’s readers an overview of the most innovative products introduced since its last guide.
The Top 50 of 2011 was published in the magazine’s August issue.
The Fluke 190 Series II Four-Channel ScopeMeter
The Fluke ScopeMeter 190 Series II four-channel handheld portable oscilloscope is the first four-channel scope designed for harsh industrial environments and the first safety rated for CAT III 1000 V / CAT IV 600 V environments. The four input channels are fully isolated from each other to perform differential floating measurements, a critical consideration for troubleshooting fixed-installation three-phase power electronic devices like variable speed motor drives. It meets the growing need for four-channel portable oscilloscopes in industrial environments. Power electronics are used increasingly in solar and wind energy generation and to maximize efficiency or reduce power consumption, especially in heavy-duty electro-mechanical applications. With the Fluke 190 Series II ScopeMeter, users can see more and fix more using all four channels.
The Fluke Clamp Meters with iFlex
The Fluke 376 and 381Clamp Meters with iFlex flexible current probes offer improved performance perfect for a wide range of current measurement situations. The 381 is first clamp meter with a wireless display, allowing one technician to do the work of two, by leaving the clamp in place and taking the measurement readout to another location up to 30 feet away. The accompanying iFlex flexible current probe allows users to measure large, inflexible, or hard-to-reach conductors up to 2500 amps. The iFlex probes connect directly to the meter, displaying current measurements without error prone scaling factors. The 1.8 m (6 ft) cord allows separation between the measurement location and the clamp meter making it easier to view the display. The large loop size and thin cross section allow measurement of awkward sized conductors and improved wire access in crowded spaces.
The Fluke 1551A Ex “Stik” Thermometer
Accurate and repeatable to ± 0.05 °C over its full range, the 1551A Ex “Stik” Thermometer is the new gold standard of industrial temperature calibration. Whether working outdoors in environments where potentially explosive gases may be present or on the floor of a processing plant, the intrinsically-safe, battery operated, portable reference thermometer is designed to go where technicians work. The stainless steel probe and digital readout are fixed together and calibrated as a system. The accuracy specification is easy to understand since it includes all uncertainty components, including drift, for up to one year. The large backlit LCD display rotates 90° degrees making it easy to read from any angle. And a user-configurable stability/trend indicator lets you know when your temperature is stable enough to record an accurate measurement.
