PRESS RELEASE : Fluke offers a total food temperature solution with the new FoodPro Thermometer Series

Everett, Wash. – Fluke Corporation, the world’s leading supplier of handheld test and measurement equipment, has introduced The Fluke FoodPro™ and FoodPro Plus™ infrared thermometers, which are designed to enable foodservice professionals to quickly and accurately gauge food product temperatures and to help detect potential food safety problems.

When both internal and external temperature checks are needed, the Fluke FoodPro Plus™ infrared thermometer offers two measurement options designed for safety, accuracy and convenience. Foodservice professionals can use the non-contact measurement mode to quickly scan hot or cold holding foods and view surface temperature readings instantly on a large backlit LCD screen, or extend and insert the contact probe stored on the device to get a high-accuracy internal temperature measurement.

For temperature surveillance of foodservice environments, foodservice staff members can use the Fluke FoodPro, a non-contact thermometer with target illumination, a "Go/No-Go" temperature zone indicator and IP54 sealing.

Both the FoodPro Plus and the FoodPro thermometers incorporate temperature safety limits from federally-regulated Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) for food temperature monitoring. HACCP programs are currently being mandated by federal, state and county governments. Due to tighter inspection requirements in many states, HACCP programs are becoming routine for institutional and large chain operators as part of an effort to reduce the risk of food-borne illnesses.

The FoodPro Plus and FoodPro units instantly reveal HACCP "Danger Zones" which range between 4 °C and 60 ° C (40 °F to 140 °F) by applying temperature rules that trigger a red (unsafe) or green (safe) light.
