PRESS RELEASE : Fluke Corporation honored as Washington’s most innovative large company

EVERETT, Wash. – Fluke Corporation, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, has received the Association of Washington Business Manufacturing Excellence Award for Innovation among large companies, presented Sept. 22 in ceremonies at AWB’s Annual Policy Summit in Blaine, Wash.

“Washington has a long history of innovation in manufacturing,” said AWB President Don Brunell, “and it’s demonstrated once again this year with these award winners.”

“Innovation is essential to our success, and the success of Fluke customers,” said Clement Feng, Fluke Vice President of Marketing, who accepted the award. “To be recognized for excellence in innovation, among all the highly creative companies in Washington, is indeed an honor.”

In spite of the recession, Fluke continued to develop new test tools through 2008, 2009, and 2010. These new Fluke products are designed to help Fluke customers win against pressures on cost and productivity by helping them do more, faster and more safely:

Fluke 810 Vibration Tester—With this tool, Fluke introduced an entirely new category of test instrument. The diagnostic technology in the Fluke 810 can read and analyze the vibrations of motors, couplings, pumps and compressors and then, by comparing vibration data to an extensive set of rules developed over years of field experience, diagnose and evaluate the problem on the spot—and recommend what the technician should do next. For customers, the Fluke 810 delivers freedom from the extensive training, monitoring, recording and expense required for typical vibration monitoring programs.

Fluke 233 Detachable Display Multimeter—Fluke reinvented the multimeter category with the award-winning new Fluke 233 Detachable Display multimeter. Often working in tight enclosures, electricians must position their test probes precisely among wires, fuses and other electrical components. When powerful 480-volt current is in use, the danger of shock or electric arc flash is always present. If the test site is distant from system controls they may need a second technician to turn power on—and that cuts productivity. In such challenging test situations the removable wireless display of the Fluke 233 gives users ultimate flexibility, improving safety and increasing productivity. By simply sliding the wireless display out of the meter body, the user can place the display where it is most easily seen—up to 33 feet from the point of measurement—while putting the meter in the best position to connect to the circuit under test.

Fluke Ti32 High Performance Thermal Imager—Inspection of electrical and mechanical equipment poses several challenges. Inspection methods that cover lots of equipment fast are preferred. Inspection methods that require work near or in contact with moving machinery or energized electrical pose greater danger. Infrared thermal inspection is one solution. With the Fluke Ti32 thermal imager, such problems as overheated bearings, wiring terminals and switches show up clearly on the infrared screen. The Fluke Ti32 delivers unprecedented performance for troubleshooting electrical installations, electro-mechanical equipment, process equipment, HVAC/R equipment and more. It is the first imager on the market with a powerful 320x240 sensor to provide crisp, detailed images for under $9,000.
