Troubleshooting loose terminal connections

By Paul Leader

While working with an injection press on which barrel heat zone one was low, my wiggy showed full voltage on the output. When I used my Fluke on the output relay, the voltage was jumping all over the place. Checking the hold down screws, I found two loose terminals where the wires were arcing creating the strange voltages. Tightening the screws down, everything was back to normal.
