Good Racing Demands a Good Track
For competitive races, athletes prepare themselves and their equipment. The track must be prepared just as carefully. Utah Olympic Park uses thermocouples embedded along the track to monitor track temperature. Visual inspections and spot-checks with the Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer confirm that the track is in top shape.
Here RJ, Track Manager at Utah Olympic Park, checks track temperature on a curve, where the ice is thin.
Readouts at the chiller plant, located at the bottom of the track, confirm all is well.
